Twenty-five acres of Montana. Built by hand, off the grid, and finished this year.
Escape to Mystic Moose Lodge, a handcrafted timber retreat tucked away on 25 private acres in the Montana mountains. Built by our family from trees milled right here on the property, this is a place made for slowing down, reconnecting and experiencing Montana at its best.
Step outside and you'll find 1,400 feet of beautiful Flint Creek flowing right through the property. Follow the water to a natural swimming hole and waterfall, then unwind in the wood-fired cedar sauna perched at the creek's edge.
Inside, exposed timber beams and vaulted ceilings give the lodge a warm, rustic feel. Gather around the wood stove, cook together in the full kitchen, relax on the deck overlooking the property, or settle in after a day exploring the mountains.
With four bedrooms plus a loft, two bathrooms and space for up to 12 guests, Mystic Moose Lodge is perfect for families, friends and groups looking for a peaceful Montana getaway.
The lodge is truly off-grid, powered by solar and propane with a private well and septic system. Starlink Wi-Fi keeps you connected when you want to be, although cell service can be spotty — which is part of the charm.
The property is accessed by a gravel road that is suitable for regular vehicles in fall. Anaconda and Philipsburg are both about 30 minutes away.
Come for the mountains. Stay for the creek, sauna and quiet.
The family who built this place milled the timber from trees standing on the property. The frame went up bay by bay, the boards came off the same ground they now shelter, and the whole thing was finished in 2026. You would be among the first people to stay here.
It sits in a clearing at the bottom of a forested draw, with the North Fork of Flint Creek running between the house and the treeline — close enough that you hear it from the deck and from most of the bedrooms with a window open.

The creek drops over a granite lip into a clear pool deep enough to swim in and cold enough that you will not linger. Trout hold in it. There is a bench on the bank, and a log bridge across.
Wood-fired, with its own deck looking back over the falls.
Light it a few hours before you want it — this is a real wood stove, not a switch on a wall. Then the sequence that makes the whole property worth the drive: sit until you cannot stand it, walk thirty feet, and get into the creek.
Vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, a wood stove in the main room, and a full kitchen built for feeding a crowd.
Full kitchen with fridge, stove, coffee and the basics. Washer and dryer. Starlink wifi and a TV. Wood stove and heating throughout. Hot water, towels and linens, hair dryer, hangers. Outdoor furniture and a grill on the deck. Free parking, right at the door.
Off-grid is the appeal, and it is also the thing to plan around. None of this is a surprise if you read it now.
Signal is spotty at best anywhere on the property. Starlink wifi is your reliable connection. Tell someone where you are going before you come.
Solar and propane, a well, and a septic system. Keep showers short, turn lights off behind you, and put nothing down the toilet but toilet paper.
The nearest groceries are half an hour out, in either Anaconda or Philipsburg. Bring what you plan to eat.
The last stretch is gravel and fine for any passenger car through the fall. Winter access is a different question — ask us before booking outside the open season.
Cold, fast, and slick underfoot, with help a long way off. Children need an adult with them near the water, always.
One in the house, one in the sauna. Doors stay shut once lit, and the damper settings stay where they are — they are set the way they are for a reason.
